The dream of a local community theatre in Benson, NC. became a reality in the spring of  2000 as the curtain opened on our very first production. With the Pilot Show "Li'l Abner" opening to a nearly packed house, the Benson Little Theatre began what we hope will be a long and successful run of bringing quality entertainment to the surrounding communities.

BLT launched its first Summer Theater Youth Workshop in 2002 with plans to continue the program annually.  The first two workshops were very successful, offering the youth of the area an opportunity to work with professionals in the theatre.

To date, the Benson Little Theatre has produced ten shows:  Li'l Abner, A Little Murder Never Hurt Anyone, A Country Christmas Carol, Grease, Steel Magnolias, The Sound of Music, Annie Get Your Gun, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, A Christmas Story, and Nunsense II.  These productions were received with applause and praise from the audiences.  Much personal satisfaction was the reward to those who participated in making these shows a reality.

The theatre appreciates the audiences, actors, crews, sponsors, and all volunteers who have worked in any way to make the Benson Little Theatre a cultural asset to the Benson area.
